Default TIME RESIDENCES, 30F Res, 170m (CoA) - 03-04-2007, 12:19 PM

The city of Dubai is no stranger to iconic and groundbreaking building designs, but the world’s first turning tower, Time Residences, is set to revolutionize the world of construction by being the only completely rotating residential structure on the planet. The 80,000 ton, 30-floor, structure in the heart of Dubai’s iconic City of Arabia development, itself the cornerstone of the breathtaking Dubailand plans, will house 200 unique apartments.

These will include your choice of one to four bedroom, single storey apartments replete with the latest in design and technology. Several exclusive four-bedroom duplex penthouses and the signature five-bedroom ‘T’ Triplex Super Penthouse will also be available on the ‘living floors’, which have been designed with comfort and luxury in mind. With a maximum of eight apartments on any one floor, uninterrupted floor to ceiling views and an abundance of space, this is a building that indulges the senses at every opportunity.

In keeping with the holistic living concept behind the overall designs of the building a large emphasis has been placed on life’s other elements, such as earth (where she rotates), water (pool area), air (circulating around the safe balcony), space (open plan uncluttered living) and fire which ignites entertainment at the top of the building, a Moon Lounge shaped as a moon crescent, for people to sit in, a first of its kind open air roof-top theatre and observatory, while directly underneath is to be the ArK Lounge which will indulge the senses in its music café bar and billiards lounge. Meanwhile the grounding qualities of the earth are available at the ground floor parking podium, with 24-hour concierge service for your apartment and car, plus a car-spa. And while your car is kept in shape, make sure to look after yourself on the social floors of the building where a gym, indoor and outdoor swimming pools, nursery/crèche, sauna, steam room, and running track will all be exclusively available to residents.

The project is designed by renowned UK architecture firm, Glenn Howells Architects, the company behind the Birmingham Rotunda in the UK, and Palmer and Turner based in Dubai and Hong Kong, the master developers of City of Arabia. This is a truly international project that will call upon global excellence.

The project will be managed by Dubai’s Kulkarni QS, while the building’s unique rotational movement will be the responsibility of Nick Cooper, the British engineer responsible for designing the Drill Machine that bored the English Channel Tunnel.

Construction is expected to start in June next year with projected completion in the first quarter of 2009.
