Default Buy in The Marina or Dubai land Dubai - 24-02-2007, 09:16 AM

Looking to invest in Dubai could I have your opinions into why you bought where you did (or are thinking of buying) Im looking for somewhere with very good rental potential (like most I assume). Prices do vary a great deal but I thought 107k(£) was high for a studio in The Diamond sports city. I can get a studio a lot cheaper on The Marina, which I thought to be a better place to invest in, it being a waterfront property.

Why don't you consider Jumeirah Lake Towers, just opposite the Marina, much cheaper too?
And I just so happen to have a studio, going cheap....

What’s your reason for selling CHEAP are you going to buy elsewhere? I sometimes wonder at all the towers and blocks being built, is there going to be enough people to rent out to. Surly others think the same no matter where your buying!

Well, I say cheap.... It seems to me, living in Dubai and browsing the property listings that the prices just keep going up. I thought they world have topped out a bit by now but they haven't. For you, I don't know if you're buying for investment or a home, and how long you are prepared to wait for the place to be ready to move into, but all these factors are really important when considering a place. If you want really cheap, buy a place that's just been launched. However, you'll have a wait a LONG time for anything to appear out of the ground. If you buy a resale, hopefully it'll be started or even nearly finished. However, you'll pay a LOT because of the rental possibilities as an owner.
As for me, I really don't know if my future is in Dubai and I don't want to look after something from afar. I'd like to buy in Singapore, that's always a safe bet, but TWICE AS EXPENSIVE as Dubai.
Give it a lot of thought before going for it.
