Jumeirah Islands Jumeirah Islands consists of a total of 50 island clusters covering 300 hectares of land and encompassing 736 villas, 184 apartments and 104 townhouses surrounded by waterfalls, lagoons, and gardens. Envisaged to be an exclusive and upmarket residential community, Jumeirah Islands (at some levels) have failed to deliver. Nakheel had come under bad press for their quality of build, but the voices have died down. Are you still angry or upset over the build quality? Do you own one of the villas? Are there any pending issues that still need to be heard? Voice your opinion here.

Default Island living in Dubai - 28-02-2007, 02:31 PM

Island living comes to Jumeirah
an exciting new residential development has been launched in Dubai by Nakheel Properties.

Jumeirah Islands, a self-contained community of 50 islands shaped and designed on 300 hectares of land. Located just off Sheikh Zayed Road between Interchange 5 and 6, the development is, according to the developers, aimed at attracting 'families who are looking for a residential retreat of relaxation and unique beauty'.

Jumeirah Islands is quite simply a unique project. While the creation of 50 islands is in itself a major accomplishment, it is the development of a family environment that is rich in experience and opportunity for all of its residents, that is viewed as the most exciting aspect of this project. The Jumeirah Islands community will have an unrivalled wealth of leisure and commercial opportunities available to them.

The 50 islands will be clustered among spacious, luxuriantly landscaped canals and each cluster will be bounded on three sides by water. A total of 16 villas with private swimming pools will be located on 46 of the islands. The villas will have distinct architectural themes and a variety of elevations with three different floor plans. The architectural themes will include Islamic, Mediterranean, Oasis and European.

The community is set to include a commercial area called 'Jumeirah Island's Village', which will have extensive retail and leisure facilities. There will also be parks, canoeing, peddle-boating, walking trails, walkway bridges and a community club.

Two clusters close to the commercial area will house four deluxe apartment buildings totaling 184 units. These will be built in the Brazilian Island Style, which will, according to Nakheel sources, 'give a strong start and finish to the signature architecture.' Two fronds will host unique, stylish townhouses with 30 houses on each frond.

Canals will form the unifying theme for the development overall which includes the main entrance feature.

Great emphasis has been given to each and every detail within this unique and exceptional project. A variety of elements ranging from cascading waterfalls to bountiful flower gardens, romantic promenades, luxury marinas and an exclusive resort will all come together to form part of the unique experience that Jumeriah Islands is set to offer.
