UAE Property Investment Forum

Jumeirah Village Jumeirah Village is a freehold residential development that will contain over 6,000 villas and townhouses, set amidst luscious landscaping and unsurpassed leisure and lifestyle amenities. Another masterplan by Nakheel, all villas were sold out on the day of the launch. So, what investment returns have investors seen on this project? Has there really been a resale market for Jumeirah Village, and if so, have people made money? What problems have there been with the development? Discuss the issues here.

Firstly - Can I thank the likes of 'Solicitor' and Desperado -any other member who's done there home work on ACW.
After reading your posts I have decided to sell both my units. Anyone who has concerns should do the same - I got a 10% profit on them. Take the money and move on is my advice - there are dozens of other deals around.
I advetised the properties for a month and both were sold within days of eachother.
Best of luck

Hi
Yes, I sold one through Gowealthy.com (spk to Nicoleta) and the other through Properties of Dubai (old name Dubai property link) in London. good luck - you should shift them soon enough.

Dear all

Like many of you here on this forum I too have had some concerns, however, since my last post ACW have confirmed their RERA status and ESCROW account which is reassuring for me.

I don't claim to be an expert in Dubai law / legislation but I do know that allot of measures have been put in place to protect investors.

To put my mind at ease I spoke to an independant law firm and asked them to carry out a few checks. Much to my delight I was advised that ACW Holdings is a legitamate company and operating legally.

I personaly beleave my investment in Hanover Square is safe but for those of you who are deeply worried, I would suggest you get professional advise.

Thanks for listening

I believe that Hanover Square is a safe investment. If you have invested in anything through Skycom/ACW and are having doubts just becuase of the negative posts in this forum, then contact Skycom/ACW. Phone them or go to one of their up shows, which there are quite a few of at the moment. Also, I do believe they are due to open an office in Central London in May.

Or contact RERA:

Real Estate Regulatory Agency

Further still, get some legal advice. Sure this will cost, but its a small price to pay for peace of mind.

If they were out to con people, would they go go as far as taking out full one page adverts in the Metro and London Lite, advertising their shows which are in top London Hotels? Would they go as far as expanding and opening an office in Central London? Would they put the RERA certificate on their website? To do all of this just to con people, you'd have to have an absolutley massive front!!

At the end of the day these forums are not meant for scare-mongering. If you are an investor and are having serious doubts just because of the negative comments on here, then seek advice from the right people. But whatever you do, do not make big decisions based only on what you have read here!!

I would not read too much into investor12's links. The only mention of Skycom is in one article, where they are said to be linked to the offending company. Thats all, nothing else. This article goes back to Aug 2006. I know that Skycom are not connected to Advanced Comms

No one in this forum can claim to know the exact history of the company structure, but anyone that has been to their shows and has been to their website can surely see that they are very professional and the RERA certification shows that - I'm sure RERA dont just hand out their approvals just for the sake of it! And I'm sure that the various business partners that you see on their website would have done their research too!

I would have to have a hell of a lot more concrete evidence that shows Skycom/ACW are dodgy before even thinking about pulling out

To ukinvestor (and anyone else!) - As I said before, speak to Skycom, RERA, and if neccessary seek legal advice if you are looking for peace of mind. Do NOT rely on the negative contributions in this forum alone before making a decision. Also bear in mind that some so called "investors" in this forum could well be rivals trying to con other investors into selling!

My power of attorney came back to me and said that the ACW team were very helpful when the transfer was made to sell my apartments.
If any of you are worried - then you should sell up and move on. I made 10% profit - you wont get much more in a year (ive been dealing in dubai properties for long enough) - plus you'll have peace of mind - whcih is exactly what some of you need I believe...the hassle is never worth it. Buy a flat from one of the bigger developers - you'll be guaranteed quality service and the apartments will be top-drawer. ACW have no experience, so the finish may not be as good in the end + why would they bother, the money will be in their bank etc. The big developers are government run, so they emphasize on good quality. Up to you folks - but I wish you luck.
Ken Manor was by the far the best investment - but not the worse. If i can walk away with 10% on every mistake - then id be happy.

I purchased a studio in the Hannover Square complex and was interested in knowing what its worth would be now if i decided to sell it.

Am going out to other investors who may have resold their purchases on the secondary market and to ACW holding as to what i would expect to receive (now that i have paid my 40%) should i decide to sell my studio which is pool facing and of approx 458sq feet with parking.

In addition to this, i would like to ask how far the development has come, as there is no information on the websites telling you what stage the development is at which is causing concern to myself and i am sure to others.
