UAE Property Investment Forum

Palm Jebel Ali The middle-sized of the three Palm Islands, Palm Jebel Ali is 50% larger than Palm Jumeirah. It aims to create an entertainment destination catering to both residents and tourists away from the actual city of Dubai. However, the project has been greatly delayed and investor money has been blocked. Prices on certain projects have shot up on the island, but actual returns vary. Have you invested on the Palm Jebel Ali, or did you manage to flip and get a return? Will it be as successful as Palm Jumeirah? What about the technical pitfalls? Share your views and opinions here.

i agree with you all on this.

I would quite happily accept an appartment in the new plot.

Their Force Majeure clause does not say what would happen if one of the causes outside thier 'reasonable control' happened. Also can force Majeure include non-delivery of the plot.

I suggest we get e mail addresses together and collectively get a letter off to Damac, so they know we are serious.

If we get no action from them we go to the UK press, they sell alot of appartments in the UK, and people in Dubai, nakeel and Damac would never want to see any bad press.

We could also write to Nakheel.

My e mail is fishan@hotmail.co.uk

Cheers

both myself and my sister have apartments in the palm springs development and we are disgusted at the behaviour of damac and nakeel and we both feel that it would be beneficial if we all joined together to fight them on how they have cancelled this development.

My email address is afc72@hotmail.com if anyone would like to get in touch and discuss how best to tackle this situation

Hi all,

I also own an apartment in the Palm Springs development and I am also disgusted and dismayed with this outrageous conn that Damac are trying to pull with their investors. We all really need to join together and fight till the bitter end if it comes to it.

I think someone does need to pull all the emails together so that we can plan something to fight the cause. Sanjeev already has 6 email contacts I think.

I think we need ACTION now as I've got a nasty feeling that they ( Damac ) will make a decision real soon after the deadline date 30/03/2008 on the outcome.

I've already written a strong letter to Damac stating how I feel and that the 2 options offered are pethatic !

I like the rest of you feel really badly let down at the moment, after 3 years of waiting this bombshell has not helped !

Default Other Investors Palm Springs Damac - 04-04-2008, 11:23 AM

Not sure if this has already been suggested, but here is a link to another property forum where investors are keen to pull together to challenge the developer on this matter. Good luck to you all, fight them all the way.

Damac Victims are not alone
Posted by Falcon, Munich, Germany on 1 April 2008 at 03:00 UAE time

The victims of Damac are not alone.

They bring to daylight what happens day by day in Dubai. We bought 2005 Falcon Tower JLT directly at Nakheel. We paid 45% until June 2006. In August 2006 we got a letter from DMCCA. Falcon will not be built - a decision of Nakheel. But we were told the Falcon Tower would be transfered to AL Fajer Properties, nothing would change for the customers.Today, 2008, we are getting letters from the lawyer of Al Fajer Properties trying to cancel every right to our purchased apartment. We have got our own lawyer - but they have refused to correspondence with him.The case is with RERA - but until today without any response.
