UAE Property Investment Forum

Solicitors / Legal advisors Even though the property ownership laws have never been clearly defined, investors have been snapping up properties in Dubai and Sharjah without any legal consultation. Contracts still remain very one-sided favouring the developers with no respite for the purchaser. Solicitor firms are now coming into the limelight with the market being dominated by some key players primarily due to overseas investor interest and caution. How do you think the solicitors should take this matter forward? Have you bought a property without a solicitor? What would you recommend to fellow investors? Share you valuable insight and knowledge with others.

Default Laws for Land lord for Tenent. - 28-03-2008, 09:49 PM

Hi.
i have a question. i am a land Lord in springs villa and i had given it to an agent for rent on 2005. first the agent tried very smart and made me sign a contract for 2 years which was for only 95000/year DH with 3 cheques. and then in 2007 he sent me one more contract to sign in which he he asked permission to sublet and the agent him self is a TT we accepted.
But now 2008 i don't want to renew the contract because i want to sale my villa. due to some financial problem and now that agent is being very rude and saying that you go to Dubai municipality and clam you villa but i will not leave the villa.
Q1. In dubai law subletting is allowed?
Q2. If the LL wants his villa back and dont want renew the contract, is theres any problem?
Please answer my question as soon as possible or if u can guide me what can i do . i will be very thankful
