Default I'M EXCITED - On my way to Dubai! - 20-02-2007, 09:06 AM

Hello to all,
This forum is great. I thank all who have contributed. I have soaked up so much info it feels like I am already in Dubai. As a 'newbie' I hope I can contribute in the near future.
I have landed myself a senior roll on the Dubai Mall project. I am leaving Australia on 18 Dec 2006 to commence work immediately.
I was wondering what area would be the best to live in so that I limit my time spent in traffic.
I have asked my new employer that depending on availability I would prefer to live in either Dubai Marina or the Greens. My research to date has made me interested in these places. I have an attractive all-inclusive package which gives me a fully furnished two bedroom apartment/villa. How long will it take me to get to the site from these areas? Are there other nice areas that I shouldn't turn down if offered?
I'll leave it at that for now. With only a little over 2 weeks to go I’m sure I will ask a few more questions.
Thank you in advance

Anyone??
I know it's the weekend but I’d like to know where best to live.
My question simply put...which way does the traffic run along SZ Rd in the morning peak.
Ideally I’d like to request accommodation. That will best suit driving to the Dubai Mall / Burj Dubai Tower site.
Thanks

Hi,
the traffic in the morning goes towards the Jebel Ali Free Zone. Your project is on the other site. So if you leave at the Marina or the springs or the Emirates Hills it will be OK. There are some buildings nearer, but mostly flats. Trade Center furnished Apartments could be the easiest option for a month until you settle down.

If given a choice which areas are most desirable to live in?
And in these areas are you likely to find 2 bedroom apartments / villas that are fully furnished (soft & hard). The company is paying for the lot including utilities + car and fuel. Or it could mean that they get a regular unfurnished apartment and then deck it out?
I am feeling that the company is doing their utmost to ensure a smooth arrival and settling in period
